Forward Fridays - Ms. Katherine Baxter

This Friday segment is dedicated to everyday people doing everyday things in our community. By recognizing these extraordinary people, we are looking to highlight their gifts, talents, contributions, and services available as well as encourage you to support, uplift and patronize them when you can. And maybe, it will inspire some, light a fire in others, to begin, step up and/or continue your own journeys to serve your community.

Reach One. Teach One. Each One.

Ms. Katherine Baxter

Katherine Baxter is the daughter of Legendary Emma Lee Baxter. Like her now retired Mother, Katherine is a teacher in the Tuscaloosa City Schools.

She is currently molding minds at Central Elementary School by way of Westlawn Middle School by way of Northington Elementary School.  But she is more than a teacher, she is a Leader and an Innovator.

She is very dedicated to bringing new and innovative ways to reach her students and they love her so much, that they continue to check in with her long after they've left her class.

You will often see her looking for fresh ideas to keep students engaged while making learning fun. You will also see her soliciting Facebook friends and her village for support, ideas, and projects.

Her students are her babies. She motivates them, encourages them and most importantly, she celebrates them. In a world that will leave them in the cold, she warmly embraces them. That is why I feel, that she is moving Tuscaloosa Forward.

Ms. Katherine Baxter,
we salute you!!

And in honor of your birthday tomorrow, we would like to wish you a very Happy Birthday & a very productive, prosperous, successful, fulfilling lap around the Sun. Enjoy!!!!

If you are looking for an opportunity to give back and/or support a local school, I implore you to take advantage of this opportunity at Central Elementary School, Home of the Champions!
